My Journey with La Frog: From Challenge to Change
My name is Laetitia, and I’m the founder of La Frog, a small but mighty eco-conscious shop dedicated to bamboo products that are kind to the planet and gentle on the soul.
But La Frog is more than just a business—it’s the product of a deeply personal journey.
A Turning Point
I was diagnosed with a chronic illness in 2011—a journey filled with both strength and struggle. I was a teaching assistant a job I loved deeply. Guiding young minds, helping them grow, seeing their “aha!” moments—it filled my heart. But in August 2024, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life: I stepped away from the classroom. My medical condition had progressed to a point where my mobility and energy no longer allowed me to keep up with the demands of teaching.
It felt like I was losing a part of my identity. But life has a way of redirecting us, even in the darkest moments.
A Seed of an Idea
Out of this space of uncertainty, something beautiful began to grow. I started to think:
“What can I create that reflects who I am now—something meaningful, sustainable, and adaptable to my life?”
That seed of thought blossomed into La Frog—a name that blends my French heritage, love for nature, and playful spirit.
I’ve always been passionate about the environment, and bamboo captured my heart for its natural beauty, strength, and sustainability. It felt symbolic—like bamboo, I may bend, but I do not break.
Building La Frog From Scratch
La Frog officially launched in February 2025. I built it piece by piece, teaching myself web design, marketing, and accounting from scratch. I’m not a tech expert, I’m not a corporate team—I’m just one woman with a dream and a deep desire to make a difference.
Everything you see on www.lafrog.co.uk is the result of countless hours of learning, designing, and believing in myself again.

I chose bamboo because it aligns with my values and speaks to the future I want to help create:

Some people see limitations in illness—I see possibilities. La Frog has given me a renewed sense of purpose, a way to contribute, to stay active mentally and creatively, and to connect with people who share similar values.
Having a medical condition doesn’t define me—it fuels me. It’s made me more determined to live in alignment with what truly matters: health, sustainability, kindness, and community.
